Heading out of Flagstaff on Highway 89, we made a detour through Sunset Crater Volcano and Wupatki National Monument.

Soon afterwards we saw our first Indians - selling their wares at road side stands! They are obviously geared up for the tourists and one even had a huge sign saying "Willkommen Deutsche"!

At Cameron you turn west onto highway 64 and enter the Grand Canyon National Park by the East Entrance.

What can I say about the Grand Canyon that hasn't already been said! We enjoyed the incredible sunset at the Moran Point which was deserted as everyone else was at the more spectacular Yavapai Point. In Tusayan, we tasted rattlesnake - delicious!! Here there is also the IMAX theatre which shows the Canyon from the air and explains a bit about the history.
