This is a long, long haul so, again, get up early and hit the trail. We had breakfast in Williams which is on Route 66. You can either decide to follow the longer and slower Route 66 or keep to Interstate 40 to Kingman where you turn north onto Highway 63.

The State Line between Arizona and Nevada is on the Hoover Dam. We decided to drive along beside Lake Mead for a while before turning west into Las Vegas .

Vegas is everything you hear about and more. There is nothing like it in Europe so we were totally overwhelmed. I actually felt claustrophobic in the first casino but after doubling my money within the first hour, I felt much better.
