I actually spent a couple of days alone in San Francisco before flying to meet my parents in Seattle. The weather was wonderful for the end of March and I spent most of the time walking around the city.

I hiked from Fisherman's Wharf to and across the Golden Gate Bridge. As I couldn't find the bus stop I also walked back over. A wonderful experience!!

I also took the boat trip from Pier 39 across to Alcatraz - eerie!!

On the flight north to Seattle, I managed to see the snow-topped mountains that I planned to visit during my holidays - Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Rainer and Mt. Hood. I was greeted in Seattle by beautiful sunshine - hey! doesn't it always rain in Seattle!!
