Day Thirteen Bellingham - Seattle

Click for Whidbey Island, Washington Forecast

Skagit Tulip Fields

The Alaska Marine Highway ships leave Bellingham for Juneau once a week. We made our way south, though, running along the Puget Sound . We travelled through the tulip fields of Skagit County.

We crossed the bridges to Fidalgo Island Puget Soundand then Whidbey Island. From Whidbey Island we took the short ferry crossing to Port Townsend which is on the northern tip of the Olympic Peninsula.

There we headed south and then east on Highway 104 to the Kitsap Peninsula. Here there is another film set town - Poulsbo which has a Norwegian theme.

Seattle
We took the ferry from Bremerton to Seattle. It was a very wet and windy crossing and I finally saw the typical Seattle from the water.
