A chilly start to the day on top of Sandia Peak! We travelled up on the Sandia Peak Tramway - the world's longest. It is 2.7 miles to the top. The view of Alburquerque was incredible. We then went to the Old Town - the Spanish heart of the city.

We visited the New Mexico Museum of Natural History which was excellent. Here you can learn everything you need to know about dinosaurs.

It is only a short trip to Grants but we detoured by Acoma and Sky City - perched on a mesa. We didn't go on one of the guided bus tours, prefering to keep our dollars and view from afar.

However we did drive out into the forest southwest of Grants and loved the beautiful scenery and the peacefulness of the land.
