Carlsbad - Alamogordo
First we went to the Living Desert State Park with is really a zoo which concentrates on animals of the region. They have, for example, a Mexican wolf.
The journey to Alamogordo took us from warm, dry countryside to cold, snowy mountainsides. We actually ran into a snow storm in Cloudcroft and from the top of the ridge we could see the white sands below. Total contrasts!!!
Driving into Alamogordo you see the Space Center - a golden cube on the hillside above the town. It mixes education and entertainment with space history.
The rest of the day was spent shopping and at the cinema.
